Since October 2023, five university-wide faculty development events focused on Teaching and Learning with AI have been organized. We are now pleased to invite you to the next Faculty Development Seminar titled "Responsible AI Use for Teaching in Higher Education: Policy, Strategy, and Applications at the University of Edinburgh and Beyond (UK)" which will be delivered by Dr. Serdar Abaci from the University of Edinburgh. The seminar will be held online on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Dr. Serdar Abaci’s biography is provided below.

Dr. Serdar Abacı: Dr. Abacı is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Data Literacies and Digital Learning at University of Edinburgh, with fifteen years of experience in research and evaluation of educational technologies. He leads the digital education across Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs in the Moray House School of Education and Sport and is the deputy academic lead of the Data Education in Schools Project. He is a co-investigator in the “AI in Secondary Schools” project, which has developed resources to support critical AI literacy skills to equip young people for living and working in the age of AI, and offer professional learning for teachers. He is also leading a working group in the Scottish Council of Deans of Education to update the National Framework for Digital Literacies in ITE. He obtained his PhD in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University and his undergraduate degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies from the Middle East Technical University.

Sizleri Edinburgh Üniversitesi’nden Dr. Serdar Abacı tarafından verilecek "Yükseköğretimde Yapay Zeka Kullanımı: Edinburgh Üniversitesi ve İngiltere Genelinde Politika, Strateji ve Uygulamalar" başlıklı bir sonraki Öğretim Elemanı Gelişim Semineri'ne davet etmekten memnuniyet duyarız. Seminer 28 Temmuz 2025 Pazartesi günü saat 14:00-15:00 arasında çevrim içi olarak gerçekleştirilecektir.
