Center for Teaching and Learning, in cooperation with the relevant academic and administrative units of TEDU, its activities for the development of teaching and learning; it carries out the activities under four main headings: supporting the teacher, supporting the learner, measurement-evaluation, and resource development and publication activities.
Our center, in order to support the instructors who want to improve their teaching skills;
- Organizes an integration program for newly appointed lecturers and research assistants at the university.
- Conducts the mentoring program for the new faculty members at the university.
- Communication with students, measurement-evaluation, use of technology in teaching, innovative teaching practices, organizes seminars etc. for full and part-time lecturers and research assistants working at the university.
- Creates learning communities that bring together faculty members from different fields to share good teaching practices and discuss current issues related to teaching.
- Provides individual or group counseling services to improve the teaching skills of instructors.
Our center, in order to support the academic and personal development of students;
- TEDU101 conducts the Introduction to University Life Course for students who have just started university.
- Conducts a student-mentoring program in order to support the academic and social adaptation of students who have just started university.
- Provides trainings to support the academic development of students; offers individual counseling support; conducts the peer-supported study program.
- Within the scope of TEDU400 Student Development Seminars course, it organizes seminars to support the academic, personal and professional development of students.
In order to support the measurement-evaluation and curriculum development studies carried out at TEDU, our center;
- Supports the development and implementation of the surveys organized for the development of teaching activities at TEDU and the realization of necessary corrective actions in line with the survey results.
- Develops measurement tools to evaluate teaching performance.
- Supports the measurement and evaluation of the outputs of the common curriculum and additional branch programs.
- Supports the relevant academic units in their curriculum studies.
Our center, in order to conduct research and publications related to its field, to provide consultancy services and to evaluate its own activities;
- Produces research, reports and publications on learning and teaching.
- Provides consultancy services to the instructors in the fields of practice, publication and research on the development of teaching specific to their fields.
- Develops resource documents and videos on effective teaching methods and techniques and innovative teaching practices.
- Conducts research on the factors affecting the academic development of students.
- At the end of each academic year, it evaluates all the services provided within the Center; prepares the annual report, prepares the next year's work program and submits it to the Rectorate.
- Supports the design of applications for the development of teaching by sharing the research results with administrators and instructors.
- Shares research findings at scientific meetings; produces scientific publications.
- Organizes seminars and scientific meetings within the scope of the center's working areas.
