TEDU101: First Year Experience at TEDU, one of the Common Core Program courses and a signature course of TEDU, is designed to support students’ transition to university life, contribute to their academic, personal, and social development, and help them become closely acquainted with the culture of TED University. TEDU101 goes beyond merely supporting students’ adjustment and offers content that enriches the university experience in a multidimensional way.
Within the scope of the course, Participate & Learn Seminars are organized to support students’ academic adjustment on topics such as TEDU systems (LMS, TEDUPortal, etc.), academic ethics and integrity, digital literacy, and the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. In addition, Faculty and Department Orientation Meetings provide opportunities for students to get to know their departments and faculties more closely, while Mix & Mingle events aim to enhance social interaction. These activities help students understand how the university operates, the opportunities it offers, and the student clubs and centers available on campus; at the same time, they contribute to the development of students’ sense of belonging, as well as their communication and collaboration skills.
