Award for Innovative Teaching with AI

TED University proudly presents the Award for Innovative Teaching with AI — a unique opportunity for faculty members to discover, experiment with, and showcase innovative applications of use of artificial intelligence in teaching.

Guided by TED University AI Policy, we are dedicated to helping faculty incorporate AI into their teaching, with the goal of establishing TED University as one of the leaders in AI-driven education.

Award for Innovative Teaching with AI honors faculty at TEDU who have made remarkable strides in incorporating artificial intelligence into teaching practices, significantly influencing individual courses, academic programs, the university as a whole. Offered by the Rectorate Office, this award acknowledges faculty who creatively utilize AI tools to improve learning outcomes and support student achievement. Through this recognition, the award encourages excellence in instruction and the continued pursuit of innovative applications of AI in teaching.

The aim of this award is to improve TEDU’s growing commitment to ethical and responsible integration of AI in education and celebrate faculty who have demonstrated creativity and innovation in use of AI in teaching. This award will open ways to showcase innovative examples of cutting-edge AI technologies and applications in teaching.

Eligibility

Before you submit your entry, please ensure the following:

  • Entry Document: All applicants must submit a document of no more than 5 pages (Times New Roman, 12, 1.5 space) in PDF that covers the key six criteria.
  • Entry Summary (300 characters max): Provide a concise summary of your entry.
  • You can include any photos or all supporting materials such as graphs and testimonials.
  • Understanding how AI has been integrated as an innovative application and the noticeable results attained during the 2026 Spring semester are of special interest to the committee.
  • Please add your “Course Syllabus” (Course Syllabus is not counted within entry document).
  • A cover page is not required.
  • The application is open to full-time faculty.

Criteria

Nominations for the Award for Innovative Teaching with AI will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Innovative Use of AI in Teaching

Nominees should demonstrate how their use of AI in education has been both effective and innovative, showing meaningful contributions to a course, program, university, or the broader academic world. This might include:

  • integrating AI technologies or platforms in teaching and course design
  • building AI literacy into the curriculum
  • creating new courses focused on AI within a specific field

Applicants should:

  • describe their AI strategy and key goals, detail the AI technologies or solutions that are implemented and where they are applied, such as adaptive learning platforms, automated grading, student engagement tracking, or curriculum design,
  • explain how AI is embedded into daily educational practices,
  • highlight unique or innovative AI applications that differentiate your course and advance teaching, learning, or education management,
  • provide measurable data showing the impact of AI on education, such as improved learning outcomes, increased accessibility, operational efficiency, or enhanced student engagement.

Meaningful Impact and Future Plans

The innovative use of AI in teaching should clearly support students’ academic growth, help them build AI knowledge and job-related skills, and improve overall learning outcomes. There should also be ongoing evaluation or refinement based on data, ensuring the strategy continues to serve all students effectively and support high-quality education.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a Jury:

  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Jared M. Wright

Recognition

A comprehensive Faculty Development Seminar/Workshop by CTL will be convened to present and recognize all submitted applications to sustain and improve TEDU’s growing commitment to ethical and responsible integration of AI in teaching.

Awards will be conferred upon the top three applicants as follows:

  • USD 1,500 for 1st place
  • USD 1,000 for 2nd place
  • USD 500 for 3rd place
