HISTORY AND FOUNDING PHILOSOPHY OF TED
A seminar on “History and Founding Philosophy of TED” was held by TEDU CTL (Center for Teaching and Learning) with Ms. Sevinç Atabay, General Manager of TED, who participated in the seminar with a speech. The seminar took place with the participation of TEDU academic and administrative personnel.
Ms. Sevinc Atabay was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Huri Baturay, Director of CTL and instructor at Faculty of Education who made the opening speech of the seminar. Ms Atabay began her address with the story of foundation of Turkish Education Association. After giving statistical information on TEA and its schools, scholarship system and the educational approach, Ms Atabay underlined that TED, whose mission is to preserve the values of The Republic of Turkey, is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations.
Also referring to the importance of teacher training, Ms. Sevinç Atabay stated that today it is a sine qua non requirement for educators to update and train themselves lifelong.
