“Flipping the Introduction to Marketing and Integration to Business Course”

Abstract

I will present my experience for two courses that I have offered at MEF University.

Introduction to Marketing: Introduction to Marketing course offers a set of initial theoretical knowledge to critically apply in marketing practices. The transfer of theoretical knowledge to practice often times constitute a challenge for many business courses including marketing. Flipped classroom offers an opportunity to take on the issue and provides avenues to learn through an interactive manner. It accommodates tools to apply learned concepts and make critical analysis of issues. My presentation will provide examples such as the case studies, webcasts and exercises we have conducted.

Integration to Business: Introduction to Business Integration course is application course where students critically apply and blend together the knowledge from fundamental area courses such as Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Strategy. Flipped classroom offers an opportunity to make students go back to the materials and review their acquired knowledge once more and apply them to a new real business case. We have collaborated with a start-up for the course. My presentation will provide examples such as the video presentations students submitted, the learning curve of the students over several weeks for a final case project.
