TED University Center for Teaching and Learning is inviting our academicians to the seminar entitled "Flipping Classroom: A TEDU Experience" by Prof.Dr. Jülide Yıldırım Öcal.

Abstract

Flipped classroom is one of many methods that are used to encourage an active learning environment. It inverts the typical cycle of content acquisition and application so that students gain necessary knowledge before class, and instructors guide students to actively and interactively clarify and apply that knowledge during class. This seminar summarizes the flipping classroom experience from Economics I and Economics II courses. In two separate classes this method has been employed, similar results have been achieved, which suggest that more efforts should be directed to encourage students to read the teaching material.
